Can you help me with a tutorial or with Photoshop? I'd love to be able to offer all the tech support in the world to you all, but it's gotten to the point where I just can't give personalized support on any Photoshop or tutorial issue. I receive an amazing amount of email and I simply don't have the time to answer every one of them. I'd suggest you try another website or go to a friendly message board (like SitePoint) and ask your questions there- you'll most likely get much more timely and better advice.

I need to find a tutorial on a specific topic or technique. The search page is your best bet. I don't have a magic button that will search for exactly what you're looking for other than really what's in that search portion of the site, so your time is best spent there if you can't find it in the categories of the site. Please don't email me with specific requests for tutorials; like I said, I'd be using the search to find it just like you, so if you go straight to that you should be able to use your time more effectively.

A tutorial is down; can you send it to me? Nope; I'm in the same boat as you. If a site goes down (temporarily or permanently) I can't help you- I don't keep local copies of these tutorials. You'll have to just stick around and hope the site comes back up or search around for a different tutorial.

I found a ripped tutorial/I have a copyright question. I take matters of intellectual property very seriously. If you find a ripped tutorial, please shoot me an email with: 1) the offending tutorial (use the good-tutorials.com/track URL), 2) the original (ripped) tutorial, and 3) any background information you have that could help corroborate your story. I'll review the tutorials, and if there is foul play, remove the tutorial submitter from the site.

Good-Tutorials Questions

Are there any requirements to sign up for an account? Good-Tutorials is coded in such a way that most modern browsers will have no problems with it. As long as you have some halfway decent browser installed, you should be able to have an account. With that said, having cookies enabled will greatly help you out. Cookies are used to identify which account you have and to log you in automatically between browser sessions, so if you don't have them enabled you'll have to log in yourself manually each time. Also, having JavaScript enabled is also a plus: Good-Tutorials uses JavaScript to do neat, superfluous user functionality for stuff like ratings and saves. Other than cookies and JavaScript, there are virtually no other technical requirements.

Can I get a link exchange with your site? I'd be happy to exchange links, but this is such a common request that I please ask that you receive at least 10,000 unique visitors to your site a day before sending your request. For that reason, I can't offer any exchanges for newly created sites- although I'd encourage you to send a request once your traffic meets that minimum.

Submitting a tutorial

How long will it take for my tutorial to be on the site? First off, there are no guarantees that your tutorial will be listed Good-Tutorials. Each tutorial is reviewed within 24 hours of submission by a crack team of moderators. If a tutorial is valued highly by the moderators, it'll make it onto the front page. Simple as that.

Why didn't my tutorial make the front page? Good-Tutorials has a number of volunteer moderators that review tutorials and determine whether or not it should make the front page of the site. It's mostly a democratic-based system, so if people like your tutorial, it'll make the front page. If it's been declined, it will show up under your user account page. On occasion, you might get feedback on your tutorial through the comments section of that tutorial so that you can get a bit of an understanding of why it might not have been rated highly.

How do I update the URLs to my tutorials? Login to your account and head on over and update them here.
